Yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me

Posted by marj on Sep 11, '07 7:54 PM for everyone

i do understand the logic behind Ma'am Achoot's decision of mandating Ateneans to go to school even if the government says otherwise.  i mean, come on, we've been paying a lot (stress on the A LOT) for this liberal education that the university offers.   Several suspension of classes ate a big chunk of our tuition fee due to storm and the nonsuspension of classes only gives justice to the money that our parents pay.

however, it also makes you think.  during the registration for barangay elections, a lot of upperclassmen weren't registered yet.  i bet they're still unregistered upto now.  And please, the Filipinos in school are not only freshmen.  during PGMA's SONA, where were we? inside our classrooms, comprehending theorems while she's making a fool out of our country's real state.  and now, here i am, waiting for my 930 am class while the whole country awaits what's it gonna be for Mr. ex-president erap.

aren't we Filipinos first before we became Ateneans?

i just want to see how the country's fate will be decided upon by Sandiganbayan.  i want to hear the full blown verdict at the time it will be exactly read.

Same sentiments. Buti na lang hindi ako nagising. Napanood ko tuloy yun verdict. Hehe. Otherwise, magui-guilty ako papasok din ako. Tsk.

I agree with you marj, but the reality is many people just don't care anymore. Perhaps Ateneo could have at least called off classes for that particular time slot (similar to what they do for masses) and had TVs on. After all if it can be done for basketball games why not for this. But seriously, if people really want to register they would find the time to do it.

I understand your sentiment... I mean, it is important to hear this too... but at the expense of missing out on more days of classes? Naah... I don't think that would be such a good idea... Nonetheless, there was a TV put up in the caf today... which showed the verdict naman. :)
